RAWALPINDI, May 4: The local police on Saturday booked eight persons on charges of gambling on horse race.
The Banni police were tipped off by their informants that the owner of a local tea shop, Ansari, ran a gambling den.
The police raided the place and arrested the eight men who were allegedly gambling on horse races telecast on satellite television.
The police also seized the stake money as well as the television set.
Cases were registered against the accused under the Islamic Law.—PPI
