KARACHI, May 4: Women councillors from various towns, including Liaquatabad, Gulberg and North Nazimabad, on Saturday visited the Fahimunissa Memorial Aligarh Institute of Technology and offered their cooperation in strengthening the institute.

The member of advisory committee, Rabia Aziz, asked the students, teachers and parents to strive for acquiring modern knowledge to ensure progress and better job opportunities.

Rabia Aziz congratulated the visiting councillors on their election to the city district government and said they would have to face new challenges in the practical field.

Referring to computer education, they pointed the benefits and advantages of the internet. They observed that the younger generation was not taking proper advantage of the facility.

Earlier, principal of the institute, Salma Habib, said a number of short term courses were being offered at the institute.—APP
