Hat tricks by Ayesha, Sanam

LAHORE, April 23: Ayesha Bashir of Punjab Colours and Sanam of Sindh Colours scored hat tricks, as three more matches were decided in the All-Pakistan Inter-school hockey championship for girls at the National Hockey Stadium (NHS) Tuesday.

Ayesha slammed four goals which included the first hat trick of the tournament, enabling Punjab Colours to beat Sindh Whites 5-0. She completed her hat trick in the opening fifteen minutes of the first half with goals in the 5th, 10th and the 15th minute. Sumaira Munir added another goal in the 19th minute to make it 4-0 by halftime. Ayesha scored her fourth goal after the interval in the 33rd minute.

Sindh Colours trounced Balochistan Whites 5-0. After a lacklustre and goalless first half, Colours went on a scoring spree with Seema opening the account with a goal in the first minute of the second half. Sanam then went on to complete her hat trick with goals in the 41st, 43rd and 46th minute.

Seema completed the tally when she banged home her second goal anmd colurs fifth goal in the 46th minute.

In the third match of the day, Punjab Greens crushed Balochistan Colours 5-0. Punjab Greens gained 4-0 lead at the interval. Halftime score was 4-0.

Sabeeha scored the first goal in the 4th minute. One minute later, Ayesha sounded the board to double the lead. Neelma Hasan made it 3-0 in the 15th minute. Sabeeha struck her second goal in the 22nd minute before Amna added a goal in the 48th minute to complete the tally.

Three more matches will be played in the morning session Wednesday which will decide the semifinal standing of the teams. The semifinals will also be held on Wednesday afternoon.
