ISLAMABAD, April 12: The district administration has set up a new department with the aim of providing increased security to the diplomats.

The department will be headed by a superintendent police, and will be a part of Islamabad Police.

This was informed by the secretary interior at a briefing for diplomats stationed in Islamabad, here on Wednesday.

Giving details of security measures being taken for the protection of diplomats following the attack on International Church in Diplomatic Enclave, the secretary said the number of police personnel deployed in the Diplomatic Enclave have been increased to 631 from 314, which would be in addition to 585 Frontier Constabulary Guards already deployed there.— Our Reporter
