OKARA, April 6: Hundreds of teachers in the district have not been given salaries for the last three months.

At a press conference here on Saturday, various teachers’ organizations in the district announced protest strike against the Education department from April 13.

English teachers union president Muhammad Farooq and joint action committee chairman Sarfraz Ali Sarfraz said teachers would stage rallies across the district if teachers were not given salaries by April 13.

They said they would also set up hunger strike camps from April 18 to 20 to press for the acceptance of their demand.
