MIRPURKHAS, April 6: A man was shot dead and two sustained bullet injuries in a clash between two groups of starters at the new bus terminal few kilometres away from here on Saturday.
A group of the starters has installed a sugarcane juice machine at the bus terminal on which another group of the starters objected due to which hot words were exchanged between the two groups.
Later some armed men reached the bus terminal and opened indiscriminate fire as a result three men, Asghar Ali Baloch, Shoukat Ali and Hayat Hussain Khaskheli, were injured.
They were rushed to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital from where Khaskheli was referred to Hyderabad due to his serious condition. However, he died on the way near Tando Allahyar.
His body was brought to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital for autopsy.
A case has been registered under section 302, 506(2), 504, 324, 147, 188 and 149 against Javed, Ramzan, Fazal alias Fazloo, Abdul Majeed, Mitho, Attaur Rehman and others with the Old Mirpurkhas police station.
DEMO: The Sindh National Front activists held a protest demonstration in front of the press club here on Saturday against the construction of the Thal canal.
Led by Asghar Narejo, the protesters were carrying banners and placards and chanting slogans against the canal project.
They were demanding of the government to shelve the project as it would destroy agricultural lands of Sindh.
KILLED: A woman was shot dead by her husband, Habibullah Mari, on the pretext of Karo-kari in village Shah Bukhsh Mari, taluka Mirpurkhas, on Saturday.
Her body was brought to local civil hospital for autopsy.
Police have lodged murder case against the accused.
SUICIDE: A woman, Ambreen wife of Mohammad Palli, committed suicide by taking a pesticide in deh Sadgar, taluka Umerkot on Saturday as her husband did not allow her to go to her mother’s house.
