PESHAWAR, April 6: A local court directed here on Saturday the administration of the Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), Peshawar, not to get vacated the building of the Pakistan Institute of Prosthetic and Orthotic Sciences (Pipos) till next order.

However, in disregard with the court’s order, the KTH administration continued forceful vacation of the premises of Pipos, claiming that they were not served the court order.

The order was issued by the additional district and sessions judge, Shebar Khan, in a plaint filed by the students of Pipos. The plaintiffs have requested the court to stay the vacation of the institution by the hospital administration till final disposal of the plaint.

The court fixed April 16 for the next hearing and directed the KTH administration to clarify its position.

The court ordered that status quo should be maintained and the respondents should not dispossess the plaintiffs from Pipos.

The plaintiffs have claimed that the Pipos was established with the funds provided by the GTZ inside the KTH in 1986 after an agreement between the provincial government and the organisation.

It was added that the institute was autonomous and the administration had no authority to vacate it.
