Fight against poverty

ISLAMABAD, April 6: Foreign Minister of Bhutan Lyonpo Jigmi Y. Thinley during a meeting with Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday, emphasized the need to increase linkages between the various SAARC countries to promote economic cooperation to fight poverty.

Shaukat welcomed Lyonpo Jigmi and his delegation who arrived here to attend the SAARC Finance and Planning Minister’s Conference on Poverty Reduction.

The minister said that poverty is the major issue facing the developing world and is widely prevalent in South Asia. We need to focus our energies to reduce poverty.—APP
