LAKKI MARWAT, April 5: The Election Commission has appointed three judges for hearing objections and disposing of appeals filed by the residents of Lakki Marwat district against the fresh voters lists.

According to a press release issued by Assistant Election Commissioner, Jamil Ahmad Khan Gandapur, the judges will hear the objections and dispose of applications from April 10 to 30.

Senior civil judge Mohammad Bashir Khan has been appointed as a Revising Authority for the Lakki Marwat municipal committee, Serai Naurang town committee and Titterkhel Qanungo Circle, while civil judges Ihsanullah Khan Mehsud and Ishfaq Taj are nominated as a revising authorities for the Saddar and Isak-khel Qanungo Circles and Baistkhel Qanungo Circle respectively.

Objections and applications must be filed on the special forms available with the EC office, adds the press release.

CARJACKING: Unidentified car-thieves deprived a car owner of its vehicle at gunpoint and injured its driver when he resisted the attempt.

Two cattle dealers hired a pick- up from the Serai Naurang weekly cattle fair for Kot Kashmir, a village situated in the jurisdiction of Tajori police station.

On the way, they told the driver to leave the vehicle, but he put up resistance and scuffled with them. One of them pulled out a pistol and fired on the driver, Shah Wali, injuring him seriously and took away the vehicle (BUC-4128).
