NOWSHERA, April 4: Two persons received injuries during a clash between Nazim of a union council, his friends and the watchmen of a school here on Wednesday.

The Nazim and Naib Nazim of Chowki Town union council, Sher Bahadur and Falak Niaz, respectively, claimed that they had information about massive cheating in the examination hall at the Government High School No. 1, Nowshera Kalan, and they went to the school for inspection.

However, they added, the watchmen did not allow them to enter the school and instead attacked them with knives.

The superintendent of the examination hall, Khalilur Rehman, said outsiders were not allowed to enter the examination hall.

He refuted the allegations of cheating in his hall, stating that for the last four days inspectors had been inspecting the hall.

A supporter of the Nazim, Niaz Ali, claimed a watchman, Jehanzaib, even attacked him with a knife.

Jehanzaib was overpowered by the Nazim and Naib Nazim and later handed over to police, he added.

The examination staff said the Nazim, Naib Nazim and their supporters had been trying to disturb the examination and for that purpose they were trying to enter the examination hall.
