Woman dies in bus crash

KASUR, April 4: An elderly woman was killed while three others sustained injuries in a bus crash near Kelon village, Kasur-Deepalpur Road on Thursday.

Reports said the bus (LUX-8878) was on its way to Pattoki from Kasur when its petrol tank dislocated. The bus reportedly went out of driver’s control and rammed into a tree.

Rani bibi died on the spot while three people were injured.

Police have registered a case against driver Shaukat Ali.

DEPRIVED: Bandits on Thursday drove away with a motorbike at gunpoint near Bhimkey village.

According to details, Pervez Masih was going back home from Chunian on his motorbike (KS-7771) when three bandits intercepted him and drove away with the vehicle.

Police are investigating.

PUBLIC SAFETY: Elections for members of the Public Safety Commission (PSC) were held here on Thursday.

Nazims of the ruling party Malik Akhtar Hussain, Ishtiaq Husain Nakai, Dr Ishrat Sultana and Nazim of opposition Muzaffar Husain Kazmi were elected the members.
