PARIS, April 4: Arsonists threw Molotov cocktails at a synagogue in suburban Paris on Thursday, the latest in a series of strikes against Jewish targets in France, police said.
No damage was caused to the building in the southeast suburb of Le Kremlin-Bicetre, which followed an attempted firebombing of a Jewish religious centre in the southern city of Montpellier overnight and the torching a bus at a Jewish school on Wednesday.
No one was reported hurt in any the unclaimed attacks, which occurred despite increased police vigilance amid fears of a rise in anti-Semitism in reaction to spiralling violence in the Middle East.
In Le Kremlin-Bicetre, police said they questioned several youths at the scene of the attack but had not yet established whether they were involved.
Police said attackers in Montpellier had thrown several firebombs at an office block in what appeared to be a bid to target the Jewish religious centre located nearby.—AFP
