NAWABSHAH, March 31: Four more sacked workers of the Habib Sugar Mills, who were observing fast unto death, were admitted to the Peoples Medical College Hospital here on Sunday.

The workers, Mohammad Islam, Long Rustamani, Khair Mohammad Rind and Sikandar Barihmani, had fallen unconscious.

Three other workers, who were earlier admitted to the PMCH, rejoined the protest after being discharged from the hospital.

Acting Nawabshah District Nazim Khalid Hussain Channa has asked the general manager of the Habib Sugar Mills to negotiate with the workers as their protest was creating law and order problem.

The sacked workers of the mill are observing fast unto death to press for their reinstatement.

PROTEST: More than 100 people blocked the National Highway near Chandio petrol pump in Sakrand on Sunday to protest against an unannounced power loadshedding by Hesco.

They raised slogans against Hesco and staged a sit-in on the highway.

When the protesters were informed that a fault had occurred in the power supply system, they dispersed peacefully.
