Villager injured in Indian firing

SIALKOT, March 30: A villager was seriously injured by Indian firing on a village in Sialkot Working Boundary’s Shakargarh sector on Saturday.

Official sources said that Qasim Ali, 35, was working in his fields when he was injured by Indian firing.

Qasim’s condition at the Sialkot C.M.H was stated to be critical.

Six more houses were badly damaged by the Indian shelling on villages in Sialkot Working Boundary’s Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Charwa, Saamba and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors.

According to official sources, Chenab Rangers foiled another major Indian attempt to fence Sialkot Working Boundary’s Jammu and Saamba sectors. The Rangers retaliated and destroyed two big Indian pillars and caused heavy loss to the enemy.

The Indian forces fired several mortars on villages in Chhumb Joriyaan (Gujrat), Charwa, Saamba and Shakargarh-Narowal sectors. The Indians also intensified firing on villages in Harpal, Charwa, Sucheetgarh, Bajwat, Akhnoor, Jammu, Bajrangarhi and Narowal sectors of Sialkot Working Boundary, badly disrupting the sowing of sunflower, water melon and melon crops in the areas.

The exchange of fire between the Chenab Rangers and Indian forces was continuing till the filing of this report.
