ISLAMABAD, March 27: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairperson and former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, has expressed grief over the loss of life and property caused by the recent earthquake in parts of Afghanistan.

In a message received here on Wednesday, Ms Bhutto said she was deeply shocked over the tragedy. “Our thoughts in this hour of distress are with our Afghan brothers and sisters,” she added.

She said the PPP and the people of Pakistan shared the grief of the Afghan people and urged the international community to help rebuild and rehabilitate the people ravaged by the earthquake.

PML-QA: The Pakistan Muslim League (PML-QA) has expressed grief over the loss of life in Afghanistan due to the recent earthquake.

The PML-QA leaders, Gohar Ayub Khan, Ghulam Sarwar Cheema, Raja Aurangzeb, Syed Yahya Munawar, Azeem Chaudhry and Nilofar Bakhtiar in their messages for the Afghan people said the people of Pakistan had been grieved by the loss of life and property of their Afghan brethren.
