Kamran shines for NBP

KARACHI, March 26: Kamran Akmal, the National Bank wicket-keeper who was recently called up for the Pakistan camp, struck 80 off 73 balls to help his side coast to an easy seven-wicket win over Pakistan Customs in the Group-II final round match of the one-day cricket championship at Iqbal Stadium Tuesday.

According to details available from Faisalabad, Kamran stroked 13 fours as National Bank reached their target in 35.3 overs. He was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

Earlier, Customs were bowled out for 200 in 49.5 overs after being sent into bat. Azhar Shafiq top-scored with 69 off 81 deliveries with eight boundaries.

Lanky speedster Shabbir Ahmed captured four for 27 while all-rounder Qaiser Abbas took three for 41 with his slow left-armers.
