LARKANA, March 20: The raiding party of the Sindh High Court, circuit bench Larkana, on Wednesday discovered four people in illegal detention at the Mehar police station.
Ghazi Khan, a resident of Gulshan Colony, Mehar, filed a petition through his advocate, Ayaz Soomro, in the Sindh High Court and alleged that the DSP of Mehar, the inspector investigation, SHO Ghulam Rasool Soomro and ASI Amir Bakhsh along with other policemen entered his house on March 18 and looted household articles and arrested Amir Ali.
The SHO demanded Rs50,000 for the release of Amir Ali and the police officials also harassed the women.
Justice Mohammed Afzal Soomro appointed Shabbir Mirani as the raid commissioner with the instructions to locate the detainee.
Before the arrival of the raid commissioner, police shifted the detainee to some undisclosed place. However, 11 others were found at the police station and the police quarters adjacent to it. They were Shahban, Nadeem Ali, Liaquat Ali, Ali Akbar, Rafique, Akbar, Amir Bakhsh, Manzoor Ali Sanbhal, Bashir Ahmed, Ghulam Hussain and Qaramullah.
During investigations it was found that four people, Shahban, Rafique, Bashir and Qaramullah, were detained without any entry.
The DSP, SHO, inspector and ASI were directed to appear before the court on March 21.
