Youth hurt in Indian shelling

SIALKOT, March 19: A youth on Tuesday sustained grievous injuries in Indian security forces’ shelling in Ghayoor village, Charwa sector, Sialkot working boundary.

Official sources said Shah Nawaz, 23, was working in fields when bullets hit him. He was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in precarious condition.

Four more houses were damaged in the shelling, the sources said, confirming Indians stepped up mortar shelling in Chhumb, Joriyaan (Gujrat), Saamba, Akhnoor and Jammu sectors.

BEAT: Two electricity thieves on Tuesday beat Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) raiders in Uddowar village, Motra, tehsil Daska.

Reports said the team headed by SDO Wapda No 4, Daska, raided the village and found landlords Iqbal Shah and Ijaz Shah stealing electricity direct from the main cable.

The accused turned the tables on the team by beating two employees Ghulam Rasool and Malik Mushtaq. They also detained other two Afzal and Arif at a dera for several hours.

Motra police have registered a case.
