MANSEHRA, March 18: By-election for the slot of Nazim in four union councils (UCs) of the Mansehra district was held here on Saturday in a peaceful atmosphere.

According to unofficial results, Haji Aziz-ur-Rehman has been elected Nazim of the Mansehra rural union council, Nooran Shah of the Perhenna UC, Hafiz Mohammad Younis of the Karouri UC and Syed Sajjad Hussain Shah of the Kathai UC.

Justice Ehsanullah Quraishi, member of the Election Commission of Pakistan, and the provincial election commissioner, Altaf Khan, visited different polling stations in the four union councils.

They were accompanied by the district Nazim, Mohammad Azam Khan Swati.

SECTION 144:District Nazim Mohammad Azam Khan Swati has imposed a ban under section 144 of CrPc on the use of loudspeakers in the mosques except for Aazan and Friday sermons. The ban will remain effective for 30 days.
