Absconding official arrested

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, March 15: The FIA D. I. Khan has arrested an executive engineer, who has been avoiding arrest by the accountability court since last year.

Muhammad Ashfaq Baloch, a former engineer Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), Akhtar Hussein Ansari, General Manager, Raheem Samoo, chief engineer, Sham Lal Lasti and Muhammad Sadiq, contractors of KESC, were nominated in reference No. 16/2002 by the court of administrator judge, accountability court, Sindh, for making money and assets through unfair means.

Ashfaq was charged for making assets worth Rs35 millions with the mutual understanding of the other accused through bogus development schemes and works. The enquiry was conducted by FIA crimes circle-II, Karachi, Saddar.
