ISLAMABAD, March 15: Additional District and Sessions Judge Rawalpindi, Shehzad Pervez Abbassi ordered the arrest of a khateeb of a local mosque, accused of abusing a 12- year old boy.

Khateeb, Maulana Muhammad Ismail Qureshi was a teacher at the Madressah adjoining the mosque in Khayaban-i-Syed, where the victim was studying.

The accused asked the boy to stay after the classes, and when the Madressah was empty, he allegedly committed the offence early this month.

The police registered a case under Hudood Ordinance against the accused on the complaint of the victim’s father Mohammad Aslam. Khateeb managed to obtain bail before arrest from the same court.

The prosecution represented by Syed Mohammad Tayab advocate on Thursday, contended that fair inquiry of the case was not possible until and unless the accused is arrested.

The prosecution insisted that the accused was trying to influence the investigation and that there was sufficient evidence of the offence being committed by the accused, substantiated by the medical report.

The court after hearing the arguments of the prosecution ordered the arrest of the accused.

The court would take up the matter again after the production of the challan by the prosecution.
