KARACHI, March 15: KESC managing director Brig. Tariq Saddozai on Friday announced a special power utility dues payment package for 1,122 destitute fishermen of Baba Bhit Islands.

He made the announcement while addressing a meet-the- electricity consumer open kutchery at Baba Bhit Island, which he visited to motivate the electricity consumers for payment of electricity bills.

The programme was arranged by the area Nazim Dr. Mohammad Yusuf.

On the Nazim’s undertaking that he will ensure that dues are regularly paid, the MD KESC deferred power disconnection drive and allowed 1,122 electricity users of the island to clear their dues making monthly payments of Rs300 each along with their current bill.

The KESC supplies electricity worth Rs 447,000 to island’s 1,122 consumers whereas outstanding dues stand at Rs39 million.—APP
