MINGORA, March 9: The Pakistan People’s Party (Sherpao group) will soon launch a mass contact drive to organize the party at the district, tehsil and union council levels.

This was decided at a party meeting held here on Saturday.

Workers’ conventions are also scheduled to be held in all districts of the division.

The meeting, at the residence of former senator Kamran Khan, was attended by party leaders and former parliamentarians including Ghani Muhammad Khan, Bakht Baidar Khan, Haji Muhammad Baz Khan Wardag, Ahmad Shah Khan, Dr Fateh Mand Khan, Saleem Khan, Zahoor Khan, Muhammad Zubair Khan, Fazal Rehman alias Nono, Mutwakil Khan and others.

Some resolutions were unanimously adopted which demanded withdrawal of the graduation condition for candidates contesting polls, release of all detained politicians including Aftab Ahmad Sherpao and imprisoned Pakistanis in Afghanistan.

The participants also asked the government to ensure the delimitations for the next elections, only on the basis of backwardness not on population; to resolve the issues with doctors and reconstruct the roads in Malakand Division on priority.
