KARACHI, March 4: The reference library at the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) is about to receive a major facelift in cooperation with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP).

CPSP president Prof Sultan Farooqi in a meeting with the medical superintendent of the Civil Hospital Karachi, Prof Noshad A. Shaikh, on Friday, promised to provide all necessary reference materials, including journals, books, and computers to the library for use by the post-graduate medical students working in various departments of the hospital. The library will also get an easy access to the CPSP’s online reference sites.

The hospital administration will carry out renovation and repair work in the library premises before the CPSP proceeds on the upgradation work.

At present, the library lacks facilities required by the post-graduate medical students and a sizable amount of reference materials has become outdated in the face of recent advancement and research in medical sciences.
