Shahid loses in semis

KARACHI, March 2: Pakistan’s Shahid Zaman failed yet again to win a title when he went down in the semifinal of the Milo Open squash championship, reports from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia said Saturday.

Shahid, seeded for the event was sent packing in 59 minutes by Stephen Meads of England in the semifinal. Earlier Shahid had won a see-saw five sets marathon against Jean-Michel Arcucci of France in the quarterfinals but failed against Meads who won 15-12, 15-7,15-14.

Top seed Renan Lavigne of France squandered a 2-1 lead against fourth seeded Nick Matthew of England to lose 11-15, 15-10, 15-8, 10-15, 12-15. Frenchman beat Mike Corren of Australiain fove games in the quarterfinal.
