ISLAMABAD, Feb 8: The Movement for Peace and Welfare has urged the Indian ambassador to issue visas to the participants of a peace rally called “Peshawar to Kolkota”.

In a letter addressed to the Indian ambassador, Mohammad Ismail Shad and other members of the movement urged both Pakistan and India to call back their forces and resolve the Kashmir issue and other disputes through dialogue.

“We have been approaching you through faxes and telephones for the last one month for the visas of 12 participants of the peace rally, but, no positive response has been received from your side.

“We have also sent many letters and resolutions to the Indian prime minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, and Interior Minister L.K. Advani, but, we are still waiting for any favourable reply,” the participants said.

They said Pakistan and India were atomic powers and the tension between them was increasing by the day.

“We have full confident that peace is most important for the progress and prosperity of both the countries,” they added.
