HYDERABAD, Feb 1: The second international chemistry conference will be held from Monday in the University of Sindh, Jamshoro.

Renowned scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan will be chief guest and federal minister for science and technology will be guest of honour in the inaugural session of the three-day conference.

According to details issued by Prof Dr Mohammad Iqbal Bhanger, organizing secretary of the conference, about 300 scientists from home and abroad will present their latest findings in the field of chemical sciences and exchange ideas.

Renowned scientists including Prof Dr I. Ninomiya from Japan, Prof A. Faghihi, Dr Ali Akbar Mottahedi and Dr Ahmed Rabbi from Iran, Mr M Mustafa from Bangladesh, Ms Ojo Olubukola from Nigeria, Dr Syed Moosa Hasany, chief scientist, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Chaudhry, Prof Akbar Mobini and Prof Khosro will be among the participants.

The inauguration ceremony will be held on Monday at Fatima Jinnah Gymnasium, University of Sindh, Jamshoro campus.

Prof Atta-ur-Rahman, federal minister for science and technology, also guest of honour, will present his plenary lecture titled recent discoveries in natural product chemistry.

During the three-day conference, there will be four sessions each dealing with different aspects of chemistry.

A general body meeting of the Chemical Society of Pakistan will also be held during the conference.

RESULTS: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, has announced the results of MCom previous, college side, annual examination 2000 held in 2001.

The controller has also announced the result of MSc final, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Zoology, college side, annual examination 2000.

SAU EXAMS: The controller of examination, Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, has announced here on Friday that the second term regular examinations of the faculties of the university and Agriculture College, Dokri, would be held from Feb 11.

He said that the examinations forms would be received by the examination wing from Feb O4 to February 08 with normal fee of Rs300.

He also announced that the regular examinations of MSc Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences would commence from Feb 12.

The examination forms will be received from the candidates from Feb 08 to 11 will normal fee of Rs500.

The controller has made it clear that the forms of those candidates with less than 75 per cent attendance would not be accepted.
