CHARSADDA, Jan 28: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) General- Secretary Raza Rabbani has said that his party would never strike a secret deal with the military rulers for the return of Benazir Bhutto.

Addressing a public meeting at the Hujra of Abdullah Jan Khan in Uthmanzai here on Monday, he said the PPP never believed in the politics of deals.

Mr Rabbani said Benazir Bhutto would soon return to the country, but not by any deal or compromise with the rulers. She would return by the force of people, he added.

He said that even when Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was in prison, the PPP had not made any deal with the then military rulers because the party considered any deal as a bargain at the cost of people’s rights.

The general-secretary said Peoples Party was struggling for the restoration of democracy which ensured the integrity of Pakistan. Provinces could get their due rights from the federation only through the democratic process, he added.

He claimed that Pakistanis would reject the elections without the participation of Benazir.

PPP provincial President Khawaja Mohammad Khan Hoti, Qamar  Abas, Barister Masaud Kausar and Najmudin, provincial general-secretary of PPP, also addressed the meeting.
