Villager killed

SIALKOT, Dec 20: A villager was killed while a woman sustained serious injuries in firing by Indian troops in villages along the Sialkot working boundary’s Sucheetgarh, Charwa and Zafarwal sectors late Friday night.

Official sources told Dawn that Muhammad Rafique (60) of Umranwali village and Farhat Bibi (31) of Chhubba village were sitting in the courtyards of their houses when bullets hit them. Rafique died on the spot while Farhat received critical bullet wounds. She was admitted to Sialkot CMH in serious condition. —Correspondent
