KARACHI, Dec 20: The judicial magistrate, Central, Ijaz Mustafa Jokhio, sent on Thursday a police constable, booked for motorcycle lifting, to judicial custody.

Constable Intisar Husain of the Supermarket police was arrested on Dec 13 with a stolen motorcycle by the Anti-car Lifting Cell (ACLC).

The constable, who had allegedly stolen the motorcycle of one of his colleagues, ASI Syed Abid Husain Shah, was booked in the case by the Supermarket police.

The accused also moved an application for his bail with the court, which issued notice to the prosecution for Dec 27.

ACQUITTED: The district and sessions judge, Central, Zafar Ahmed Khan Sherwani, acquitted a man in a case pertaining to shootout with police.

The judge acquitted the accused, Kamran, of all charges on an application filed for his acquittal under section 265-K of CrPC.

The man was booked on Sept 19 last year by the Buffer Zone police for attempting to kill a police personnel during a shootout.
