Citizen action body formed

BUNER, Dec 2: A Citizen Action Committee has been formed for Buner district, comprising 25 individuals including 10 women members.

The body was formed on the conclusion of a two-day workshop, organized by Aurat Foundation, Peshawar chapter, with the help of District Coordination Council of the Non-Governmental Organizations (DCCN) Buner at a local hotel of Peshawar.

The body aims at working for creating awareness among the women to ensure their active participation in the political process.

Speaking at the meeting Sajela Suhail, programme officer in Sarhad Rural Support Programme, explained the terms ‘Gender and Sex’. She also argued that woman and man were equal.

At the end of the workshop the participants agreed to create awareness among women to ensure their active participation in the politics.
