Sukkur Nazim visits jail

SUKkUR, Nov 28: Zila Nazim, District Sukkur, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah accompanied by Zila Naib Nazim Iqbal Dawood and Taluka Nazim Sukkur, Syed Kazim Ali Shah visited central Prison-I Sukkur this morning and inspected condemned and juvenile ward of the jail and inquired about the health and welfare of the prisoners.

He also visited the prison hospital and assured the patients of provision of medicines to the inmates.

Earlier, the jail superintendent, Mr, Abubaker Shaikh, pointed out some of the problems of the prison including provision of medicines and ceiling fans etc.

The Nazim announced Rs. 5000/- for repair of the jail vehicle.

Later, he visited Central Prison-II where Superintendent Javed Zamir Farooqi briefed him about the strength and performance of the prison.

He visited various wards, hospital and kitchen of the jail and was impressed to witness cleanliness, discipline and standard of kitchen items.

He announced ten blankets and two Black & White T.V. sets for the prison. He asked the EDO Health to carry out malarial spray in the Jail.

The prisoners informed Zila Nazim that due to transfer of ATC Judge Sukkur, proceedings of the cases had been stopped.

He assured the jail official of taking up the matter with the concerned quarter.
