Husband strangulates wife

MIRPURKHAS, Nov 28: A married woman was strangulated by her husband in Deh 360, at village Ghulam Hussain Tungri on the pretext of Karo-kari on Tuesday night. Report said that accused Nazar Muhammad Tungri, with the help of two other accomplices, strangulated his wife Ms Azeema, 26, and escaped. A case has been registered with Jhuddo police against them. Later, police captured the main accused Nazar Muhammad Tungri.

TEACHERS PROTEST: A complete boycott of academic activities was observed in all the government schools and colleges in the district on the call of Sindh Employees Alliance on Wednesday.

The government schools and colleges of Mirpurkhas, Mirwah, Digri, Naokot, Samaro, Kunri, Kot Ghulam Muhammad, Jhuddo, Tando Jan Muhammad, Umerkot, Pithoro and other towns remained closed. The office- bearers of the alliance, according to a press release issued here, visited different schools and colleges.

While talking to newsmen, they said that the decision of alliance would be implemented regarding test for receiving increment of M.Ed and B.Ed teacher.

TWO BOOKED: The Sinjhoro police on Monday night booked a woman, Gulshanara Leghari, on the charge of killing her husband, Yousuf Baig Leghari, at the Tharo Khan Leghari village, Sinjhoro Taluka, on Monday night. Her son, Farooq, too has been booked who was said to be an accomplice.
