BAHAWALPUR, Nov 21: The Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakisatn will hold a rally in front of the DIG’s office on Nov 26 to protest the alleged excesses against its activists in the New Central Jail, Bahawalpur.

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, district president Rao Javed and the secretary-general alleged that deputy superintendent Ghulam Dastagir and other jail officials had been subjecting SSP activists to excesses for the last four years.

They said some of the workers had been kept in small cells meant for condemned prisoners. They were also not being properly fed during the sacred month of Ramazan, they alleged.

SACKED: The DIG on Wednesday dismissed three constables from service on the charge of negligence of duty.

Muhammad Iqbal, Ghulam Murtaza and Muhammad Ashiq were posted outside St. Dominican Church on Oct 28, but they were found absent which resulted in the massacre of 15 worshippers.

CASE: Baghdadul Jadid police on Wednesday registered a case against the UC 12-BG Nazim and his 10 companions for trespassing.
