Man shot dead, two injured

KASUR, Nov 19: Two unidentified assailants on Monday shot dead a man and injured two others seriously near Dhadian village, Kanganpur.

Ashraf Masih, Salim Masih, Lars Masih and Ishaq along with two labourers were on their way to Kanganpur from Kulianwala village, Hujra Shah Muqeem, by a truck (695-AK). Near Dhadian village, the armed men opened fire on them, killing Ashraf Masih instantly and injuring seriously Lars Masih and Ishaq. The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained.

Kanganpur police have registered a case.

CASES: The local Irrigation department on Monday lodged cases against 31 farmers for illegal watering their fields from Chor Kot, Bhila Hithar.

Those who booked include Ghulam Rasool, Liaquat Ali and Liaquat Ali Shah.

Meanwhile, scores of villages were plunged into darkness when thieves took away electricity wires worth Rs75,900 from near Lakhnekey village on Monday.

Mustafaabad police have instituted a case.
