SUKKUR, Nov 8: Office-bearers of Pak-Saudi fertilizers employees union, Mirpur Mathelo, have again pledged to resist privatization of the factory by launching a protest movement from November 12.

At a press conference here on Thursday, they warned the prospective bidders not to take part in the proposed auction on November 26, otherwise the employees would stage a sit-in and block the factory gates.

Union Chairman Amin Soomro, along with other office bearers, alleged that vested interests of some people with connections in Islamabad, wanted to take over the fctory.

While supplying the figures of the facotry’s balance sheet, they said that three such exercises during different governments have been carried out to denationalize the factory which were deferred due to workers’ protest.
