Ginners get extortion letters

SANGHAR, Oct 14: The ginners in the Shahdadpur area are in the grip of severe fear after attacks on two factories by a gang of more than a dozen dacoits, who had demanded lakh of rupees as extortion money, and as a precautionary measure, the ginners have also beefed up security measures by employing more armed guards.

According to information the gang of dacoits had late on Saturday night stormed cotton factories located on Sanghar-Shahdadpur road. They fired towards the factories, which was retaliated by the armed guards of the factories.

The exchange of fire continued for half an hour, the dacoits fled the area after leaving letter for ransom to seven cotton factories and also left 14 bullets with a message to arrange millions of rupees, costly watches and “Boski” turbans and have threatened of dire consequences if their demands were not met.

The ginners held a meeting at Al-Basit cotton factory and demanded security.

The police also have intensified patrol around the ginning factories on Sanghar road.
