Two killed in kidnapping attempt

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sept 30: Two died in a clash between the villagers of Chak TD-54 of district Bhakkar and two dacoits - Muhammad Umar alias Umra, a proclaimed offender of police station Sarai Karishna and his accomplice Allah Wasaya, armed with Kalashnikov and 12-bore shotgun, when they tried to kidnap Jabir Ali s/o Ghulam Sarwar for ransom.

Jabir Ali was at his farm house with his father, where he was shot at and killed by the dacoits on resisting a kidnapping attempt. The culprits escaped and took refuge in a nearby sugar-cane field.

On hearing the sound of gunshots, villagers came out with clubs and sticks and chased the dacoits in the field. In the process, Muhammad Umar - the dacoits was killed and the other was got caught.
