KARACHI: Yaum-i-Ali today

KARACHI, Oct 14: Yaum-i-Ali is observed to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (A.S.) on 21st of Ramazan falling on Oct 15 this year.

Various programmes have been organized across the city on Sunday, including majalis and processions, in which Ulema will shed light on the life and teachings of Hazrat Ali (A.S).

The main procession will be taken out from Nishtar Park which will terminate at Hussainian Iranian Kharadar at around 9pm after passing through its traditional route.

Earlier, a majlis will be held at Nishtar Park which will be addressed by Allama Talib Jauhri at 11.30am.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of KWSB, Brig Iftikhar Haider, has directed the officials concerned to ensure proper water supply along the routes of Yaum-i-Ali (A.S.) procession, PPI adds.

While presiding over a meeting of senior officials at his office, the KWSB MD exhorted them to immediate rectify faults pertaining to overflow of sewerage lines.

He also asked them to set up a KWSB camp at Numaish Chowrangi, where senior officials should be deputed to solve problems related to water and sewerage lines.

Among others, the meeting was also attended by three Zonal chief engineers and superintending engineers of Saddar, Lyari and Jamshed towns.
