‘Bandit’ killed

GILGIT, April 30: A bandit was killed reportedly by his accomplices early Friday in Konodas Colony in a dispute over distribution of looted amount, police sources said.

They said that three robbers Abdul Rauf, Kaseer Malik and Noor Muhammad all residents of Astore district wearing masks sneaked into the house of a schoolteacher Mohammad Abdullah in Mujahid Colony on Friday and robbed Rs229,000 from him.

When the police began search in the area, they found a body of Noor Mohammad, who was said to be an accomplice of the bandits. Police suspected that the murder was committed over the distribution of the booty as they recovered Rs 176,000 hidden in the socks of the dead man while a 30 bore pistol and six bullets with three masks were also recovered from their another accomplice Abdur Rauf. Police said their third accomplice Kaseer Malik escaped.
