Monsoon emergency in Wasa

LAHORE, June 4: A monsoon emergency has been declared in the Water and Sanitation Agency of the Lahore Development Authority with immediate effect to put employees on a alert to deal with the sewerage and drainage problems in the event of heavy rainfalls.

All the Wasa officers have been directed to arrange detailed surveys of their areas and prepare lists of trouble spots with reference to storm water drainage. They have been asked to prepare foolproof plans for effective drainage of water from the spots in the event of heavy rains.
