DADU, June 4: The workers of various political parties including the JSQM, the JSSF, the STSF, and the PPP (SB) took out a rally on Tuesday against the EDO, Health, and civil surgeon, Civil Hospital, Dadu.

They marched from the Degree College road to the press club where they staged a demonstration for three hours blocking the Katchehry Road.

The activists carrying banners and placards chanted slogans against the EDO and the civil surgeon.

They were led by the district president, JSQM, Ghulam Hussain Lund, STSF district president M. Khan Channa, PPP (SB) leader Ubaidullah Leghari and the chairman of the Young Citizen’s Action Committee, Qaim Ali Siyal.

Speaking to the demonstrators, their leaders alleged that some officials of the health department including the EDO and the civil surgeon were involved in the theft of equipment of the Civil Hospital Dadu.

They regretted that the police had arrested four lowly-paid employees, while sparing the officers.

They expressed ‘no confidence’ in the inquiry team constituted by the EDO (health) to probe into the matter.

They appealed to President Gen Pervez Musharraf to take action against the corrupt officials of the health department.

LHWS: A large number of lady health workers staged a demonstration for two hours outside the press club on Tuesday to protest against the non-payment of their salaries since the last eight months.

They were led by lady health workers Qulsoom Malkani, Zarina Siyal, and Ms Maryam.

Carrying banners and placards, they raised slogans against the EDO, Health, Dadu.

Speaking to the demonstrators, Qulsoom Malkani and Zarina Siyal said that at least a hundred lady health workers were working in the district but none of them had been paid their salaries since the last eight months by the EDO.

TWO KILLED: Two people, Ali Asghar (55) and Ghulam Haider (30), were shot dead and two others were injured seriously in an armed clash between two groups over an old enmity in the Bajhee Khan Khoso village in Mehar Taluka on Monday.

The Mehar police have registered two separate FIRs under section 302, 337, A1 QDO, 504, and 34 PPC against seven people from both the groups.
