MUZAFFARABAD, June 4: A dominant group of Kashmiri freedom fighters, Hizbul Mujahideen, said on Tuesday that the freedom struggle in the occupied Kashmir would not wane despite what it called negative Indian propaganda.

“The impression that the armed struggle in occupied territory will die down following the stoppage of the so-called infiltration from Azad Kashmir is totally false and fabricated by the Indian agencies,” said Syed Salahuddin, supreme commander of the group.

“We launched the liberation movement by trusting our own power and the blessings and support of the Almighty Allah,” he said, adding that the struggle had been strengthened with the blood of 80,000 martyrs and no power could wind it up.

“Every house in occupied Kashmir has become a trench and every child, youth and elderly person is in the battlefield to fight against Indian troops.”

The Hizb chief said over the last 13 years, the Mujahideen had gained expertise and self-sufficiency in manufacturing hand grenades, explosive devices and landmines. “They are fully capable of striking at their targets through remote control.”
