Explosive hurled on police

KARACHI, Nov 4: A one-kilogramme explosive device was diffused two minutes before it could explode on Hub River Road on Sunday night.

According to police, a youth riding motorcycle threw a lunch box-like article on the police party at a place between Gulshan-i-Mazdoor and Naval Colony, and fled.

The police immediately called the bomb disposal squad which diffused the locally-made device.

Meanwhile, a suspicious brief-case, suspected to be carrying some explosive material, was also recovered from near the HBL SITE branch. This, however, turned out to be a hoax call.
