HYDERABAD, Nov 4: KRL, inspired by Yasir Arafat, ended Pakistan Customs’ hopes of retaining the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I title when they defeated the latter by a narrow margin of three wickets at Niaz Stadium here Sunday.

Chasing 130, KRL overcame a middle-order collapse to achieve their third win. By gaining maximum 12 points, KRL displaced Customs from the second spot in the standings Sunday even though both teams secured 42 points after eight rounds.

Earlier, Customs were able to muster just 76 for the loss of remaining six wickets after resuming their second innings at 212 for four.

Left-handed Kashif Siddique added only four to his Saturday’s 78. Of the remaining batsmen, only all-rounder Tariq Haroon was able to make a significant contribution. He struck six fours while making 35 off 4 deliveries.

All-rounder Yasir Arafat, who claimed six for 23 in Customs’ first innings of 46 all out, was again the wrecker-in- chief with his medium-pacers. He captured six for 14 in 31 overs for match haul of 12 for 127 in 43 overs.
