KHAIRPUR, Nov 4: A ten years old tribal dispute between Kalhora and Nareja tribes has re-surfaced in kutcha area of the district.

According to reports, ten armed men attacked village Yousuf Kalhoro and set ablaze houses of Yousuf Kalhoro, Ghulam Fareed Kalhoro, Ghulam Rasool and Ali Dino Kalhoro in which heaps of chuff, goats and other valuables were reduced to ashes, creating tension among both the tribes.

It may be mentioned that the tribal row had started over a theft incident, which has claimed eight lives till today and as many as four tribal jirgas were convened to settle the issue but all in vain.

CRUSHED: A twelve year old boy was crushed to death under the wheels of a speedy Sukkur bound bus on Kumb-Kot Lalo road near Thari Meerwah. The deceased was identified as Bakhat Ali son of Haji Abdul Ghani Shar of Hindyari village. Pir Wasan police have arrested the driver and impounded his bus.

SIT-IN: A peon of UC Kumb alongwith his mother, wife and children staged a protest sit-in against the UC Nazim Kumb outside the Khairpur press club here on Sunday. Peon Tayab Ali alongwith family was protesting against non- payment of his salary since last many months. Later, talking to newsmen he said that his family was starving due to non-payment of salary but the Nazim was not ready to listen to his request.

PROTEST: The staff of food department Naushahro Feroze continued their protest on the third consecutive day here on Sunday, against the non-payment of their salaries.
