ISLAMABAD, March 5: A delegation from Balochistan led by Sardar Yar Mohammad Rind, minister of states and Frontier regions called on Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz here on Saturday and apprised him on the situation in the province with special reference to relief efforts being carried out for rehabilitation in the rain affected areas.

The delegation informed the prime minister that representatives of Army, Navy, Air Force and Frontier Constabulary played a pivotal role and provided all out support in relief operation to the extent that they even shared their own rations with the people of the affected areas.

Mr Aziz talking to the delegation said the government promptly responded to the situation arising because of rains in Balochistan and has co-opted the services of Air Force and Navy.

He said C-130 aircraft are being used to send tents, blankets, food supplies and medicines to the affected areas and helicopters are dropping the supplies to inaccessible areas. This operation, he said, continues unabated and as the communication links improve relief goods are also being sent through roads by trucks.-APP
