SUKKUR: 15 hostages released

SUKKUR, March 5: All kidnapped men of Sundrani and Chachar clans were released on Friday in Ghotki after negotiations between the tribal elders and police.

Under the deal, police released Trooh Sundrani and Sobho Sundrani who were arrested on Thursday night.

After arrest of Trooh Sundrani, a member of Sundrani force, armed Sundranis had attacked Dur Mohammad Chachar village and kidnapped Motan Chachar, Mohammed Hussain Chachar, Shakoor Chachar and Khushhal Chachar.

The Chachar clan had claimed that the brother of Trooh Sundrani, Tahir Sundrani, was allegedly involved in a kidnapping.

Police despite several attempts of negotiations with Sundranis failed to recover hostages.

Later, a heavy contingent of armed Chachars attackedQadirpur and Khawand Bux Sundrani villages, opened indiscriminate fire and kidnapped a number of Sundrani tribesmen.
