HAFIZABAD, March 5: A Faisalabad-bound train on Saturday reached Hafizabad four hours late owing to non-availability of an engine at Wazirabad junction.

The train, 234-Down, was scheduled to reach Hafizabad at 8am, but it reached here at 12 noon, inconveniencing hundreds of passengers.

STRIKE THREAT: Powerloom labour leaders here on Thursday threatened to go on hunger strike if their wages were not raised.

The leaders, speaking at a union meeting held at Mohalla Mian Da Kot, under the chairmanship of Hafiz Siddiq, claimed that workers had not been given raise for 13 years. They said the prices of essential commodities had increased many times during the said period. They demanded that the district government should intervene to help the workers in this regard.
