KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 7: Former Pakistan hockey goalkeeper Shahid Ali Khan will arrive here on March 6 for one-month stint with Malaysian national juniors.

Shahid, who was one of the heroes for Pakistan when they won gold medal in 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, will act as goal-keepers' coach for team who are preparing for Junior World Cup in Rotterdam late June.

"The vastly experienced Shahid will arrive in KL on March 6 to assist juniors in goal-keeping. He will stay until April 10," said juniors team manager Ariffin Ghani.

This means Shahid will also be with the team for six-nation tournament on March 26 to April 3. "It's good to have Shahid around as he is an effective goal-keeping coach. His expertise and experience will be assets," he said.

Shahid, besides winning Olympics medal, was also in Pakistani team who won 1994 World Cup in Sydney.

Ariffin said Shahid will also be available to senior team and it is up to team management to decide whether they want his assistance.
